There are a few "prep steps" we recommend doing before you start the domain transfer process, followed by the "next steps" outlined below:

Prep Steps:

1. Make sure your domain is older than 60 days, i.e. has been registered longer than 60 days and has not been transferred within the last 60 days;
2. Make sure your domain is not about to expire. Although the transfer may go through even if your domain expires during it, there is no guarantee that will be the case. We recommend initiating the domain transfer at least 2 weeks before the expiration date;
3. Double check that your Whois email address is accurate and accessible. Certain TLD transfers may require you to receive an authorization code or send verification emails through this address. If it is not correct, you should update your Whois email before the transfer.

Next Steps:

1. Unlock your domain and obtain the authorization code (also known as the EPP code) from your current registrar;
2. Provide authorization code and submit a domain transfer order for the domain(s) with the new registrar (we also offer bulk transfers);
3. After the transfer is initiated, it may take some time for the losing registrar to be notified. Most registrars require the domain holder to confirm the transfer before releasing the domain(s). Be sure to check for any notifications from the losing registrar and take the necessary actions promptly;
4. After the losing registrar release the domain(s), the central registry will change registrar to the gaining registrar and the transfer will complete.

Transfers can take anywhere from 1-15 days, depending on how fast each step can be completed.
