Dynadot Help
How do I complete my domain transfer to Dynadot if my domain is locked?
Your domain must be unlocked before a transfer can be completed. If your domain is currently locked, please follow the steps below to determine how to proceed.
1. Domain Is Subject to a 60-Day Transfer Lock
If your domain was registered or transferred within the past 60 days and is still within the 60-day transfer lock period, the transfer cannot be completed until the 60-day transfer lock period has ended. This lock cannot be removed during this period.
You will need to:
- Wait until the 60-day transfer lock period has passed.
- Initiate the domain transfer again after the 60-day transfer lock has been removed.
2. Domain Is NOT Subject to a 60-Day Transfer Lock
As we are not familiar with other registrar's systems, you will need to contact your current domain registrar directly for assistance with unlocking your domain. Once the domain has been unlocked, you do not need to take any further action. Our system will automatically detect the change and continue processing the transfer.
Note: A registrar-level lock and a 60-day transfer lock are different. A domain subject to a 60-day transfer lock cannot be transferred even if it is unlocked at the registrar level.
